Dane County UW Extension has equipment that allows a meeting or presentation to be simultaneously interpreted for up to 32 individuals at a time. Using a tabletop sound booth, the interpreter is acoustically isolated, yet in the room and able to observe/listen to the presenter. The interpreter speaks into a microphone and the interpretation is then transmitted to the listeners via headphones connected to small pocket-sized receivers.
