Jackie Francois Gehin has joined the Dane County FoodWIse Nutrition Education team as the Program Administrator. She officially started her new role on Monday, November 28, 2016. FoodWIse is the new name of the Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program (WNEP) which is a federally funded program to help limited resource families and individuals choose healthful diets, purchase and prepare healthful food, handle food safely, and become more food secure by spending their food dollars wisely.
Jackie began her career with UW-Extension in 1996 as a Dane County Youth Nutrition Educator. She developed classroom teaching contracts with elementary and middle schools throughout Dane County where 50% or more of the students qualified for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
Since 2005 Jackie has been the Dane County 4-H Youth Development Program Advisor. She spent her time mentoring clubs, families, adults and youth, as well as managing the day to day coordination of leadership, administration and direction for Dane County 4-H.
Jackie holds facilitator certifications in child care administration, parenting, behavior management and temperament styles. Her education includes an Associate Degree in Human Services and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
